Brighstone Primary School went book character crazy yesterday. Fairy Tales, Horrible Histories, Where’s Wally (as well as Wanda) and many, many others were represented. What a spirit lifting sight it was as you all paraded around the Church during Eucharist. A huge thank you goes to everyone who made such an effort with their costumes.
Miss Brough has also been overwhelmed by the response to the story writing competition. She has been inundated with entries and I am hoping that she will ask me to help judge as there is nothing I like more than a great story. If, like me you enjoy a good book, they will shortly be on display in the library.
All of our literacy and maths activities yesterday were focused on books, the inspiration came thick and fast I would like to say a particular well done to Year 6 who were so absorbed in what they were doing yesterday morning that many of them asked not to go out at break time!
We have several highlights appearing in next week too: Thursday will see Bentley Photographers returning to the School to take photos of the children in Mufti, so we are allowing children to wear their own clothes for the day on the 12th to save them having to get changed after the photograph.
Friday the 13th is Red Nose Day. We have many activities planned throughout the day and everyone is invited to come to school with a “Funny Face”. I know that I will be popping into a well-known supermarket this weekend to “pick my nose”
I wish you all a wonderful weekend.
