The Brighstone School Association (BSA) are a voluntary group of parents and staff who work together to raise funds for school projects, curriculum visits and trips and pupil enjoyment. All parents and carers automatically become a member of the BSA when their child is at Brighstone.
The BSA organises a series of fundraising events throughout the academic year, including: the annual Round the Island Relay Race, Pumpkin Carving Competition, Christmas Fair, Wolverton Folk & Blues Festival, the Summer Sizzler etc which all contribute to help keep the costs of various school trips throughout the year down to a minimum. They also organise other fun activities throughout the year, such as the Easter competition, in which children are invited to decorate an Easter bonnet, Easter garden or Easter egg.

They are always on the look out for people to help with these efforts. If you think you may be interested or know someone that is, please either speak to our Chair, Richard Palmer, or Melissa Jones in the school office, or maybe just come along to the next meeting. It would be great to see some new faces!
Recent Events
Summer Sizzler
Each year, the BSA holds the Summer Sizzler on the school field. This year it was Olympic-themed, with lots of sporting activities, line dancing and country dancing alongside the usual stalls, singing and BBQ. Thank you to all the parents and staff who helped to set up, run the activities and stalls and tidy up afterwards. Thank you to all the families who came along to join in with the fun!
Wolverton Folk and Blues Festival
At the recent Wolverton Folk and Blues Festival, the BSA raised an incredible £2120 from the sale of hot drinks and homemade cakes. This is fantastic, and will go towards helping to reduce the cost of school trips, as well as purchasing resources and equipment for lessons. Thank you to all who donated a cake and who helped out. Relay Race against Nine Acres Primary School
Each year, a team of staff, parents and children take part in a Round the Island Relay Race against Nine Acres Primary School. This year, we raised an incredible £610! Well done to all!
Northcourt Manor Open Gardens
A team of parents and staff ran the tea and cake stall, as well as donating lots of delicious cakes!
Plant Sale
Each year, the BSA holds a Plant Sale, selling donations of plants to raise money.
Meetings and Minutes
The most recent BSA meeting took place on Monday 30th September. Lots of ideas were discussed and events planned; keep an eye on their Facebook page for what’s coming up. Offers of help for each event would be welcomed – please let the school office know, or respond directly to the BSA’s Facebook page or messenger group.
