Brighstone has certainly been buzzing this week. Our extra Leap Year day was put to good use as we leapt, jumped and bounced our way to raising a phenomenal £537. During Golden Worship this morning we thanked the Small Leadership Team in Year 6 who organised and ran the whole event. They all worked together well and exhibited a remarkable level of maturity.
World Book Day also saw everyone working together to celebrate our love of books and reading. The Whole School paraded around the Church during Eucharist and we were astonished by the wide range of wonderful book characters that we saw and the level of effort that was displayed. Well done everyone!
It was fantastic to see so many parents at our recent parents evening. If you were not able to make the days offered, please talk with your child’s teacher to arrange a mutually convenient time.
It has been lovely to see the sun shining this week, however break and lunchtimes are still very chilly therefore please ensure that the children bring their coats.
I am going to be hunting my house high and low for coppers this weekend in preparation for our ‘Penny Wars’. Each class will have a jar to collect coins and each week this will be counted and averaged for each class (this ensures the competition element is fair), the year group with the highest average total at the end of term will be given a reward and any money raised will be added to the new building fund.
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend and wish all of our mums a very Happy Mother’s Day.
