Another week comes to the end bathed in sunshine and warmth. It was wonderful to see children cycling and scootering to School again. Last time we won the scooter pods which are now situated on the playground and I am really looking forward to winning some scooters for the School for all to use. I have had a wonderful week this week popping into classes. My visit to Year 2 was truly enlightening I never knew the real story of the 3 little pigs told from the wolves’ point of view and I can’t wait to read the finished narratives.
I would like to congratulate all the football teams for their determination, sportsmanship and grit over this season. I know this last week each team has met with defeat, but it is through endeavours coming through disappointment, but what is defeat? Nothing but education, nothing but the first step to something better and as Michael Forbe said, victory is sweetest when you have known defeat. On behalf of all the teams we would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs. Snow and Mr. Evans for all their hard work in training and arranging matches. Roll on next year.
Next week the Bishop is coming to Brighstone and has agreed to open the new Year 5/Year 6 classrooms while he is here. However, we look forward next term to celebrating the new buildings with everyone in true Brighstone style.
I am pleased to say that we have had many prospective applications for the teaching posts and Headship and I look forward to working with the successful candidates in September.
Next week as you will see the Year 4 and Year 6 will be selling their raffle tickets for the Easter Egg raffle. Please help them to raise as much money as possible towards their Residential Trip. Have a lovely weekend. Mrs. Pugh
