Dear Parents and Carers,
What a great celebration we had at the Harvest Festival this week! The children were amazing and it was lovely to welcome the parents that joined us in church. Thank you so much for the donations of Harvest gifts for the Food Bank, your generosity will make a difference to families in need.
On the theme of generosity – thank you to everyone who donated cakes for the Macmillan Bake Sale last Friday and to those of you who supported the sale we raised a fantastic £140.50. Thank you to Melissa for organising the event and to the children who stayed after school to help.
Well done to our BSA relay team, they showed amazing stamina and brought the baton home for Brighstone in first place. Congratulations and well done to the teams from both Brighstone and Nine Acres – the challenge is on for next year! Thank you very much to Lucy Brodie and the BSA team for the excellent organisation that went into it – we look forward to sharing the final total that has been raised once all of the money has been collected.
I am pleased to be able to share with parents that we have appointed Mrs Susan Boyd as our part time Year 3 teacher. Over the next two weeks Mrs Boyd will be in school to meet children, staff and parents as we manage the transition before Mrs Denness goes on her maternity leave.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend and that as many of you as possible will support Brighstone Horticultural Society with their Autumn Show tomorrow at the Wilberforce Hall.
