I cannot believe today is the end of this term and tomorrow the beginning of the summer holiday. I do not know where this academic year has gone! We have been reflecting on the wonderful things that have happened this year. The Fun Run, the Christmas Hey Ewe production and Panto, the residential visits and trips both on the island and across the water, Sports Day and Chitty to name but a few, no wonder the time has flown by! It has been an exciting year but none of it would be possible without the hard work of everyone involved in the Brighstone Primary Team: the children, staff, BSA, parents and governors. My huge thanks go to all of you for the wonderful work and dedication you have shown this year.
New beginnings and challenges are always exciting but often go hand in hand with saying Au Revoir to friends and colleagues. Today we wish goodbye and good luck to our wonderful Year 6 who leave very big shoes to fill. Topaz class – it has been an absolute pleasure to meet you this year. Your future lies ahead of you, grasp it with both hands and think back of your time at Brighstone and smile, as we will when we think of you! We also wave goodbye to a few other children throughout the school today and wish them luck in their new schools.
We also bid farewell to several members of staff today and wish them luck in their new posts. I know that Miss Rand, Mr McQueen, Mrs Graham and Mrs McQueen all take many fond memories of their time at Brighstone which I am sure they will reflect on over the coming months and years.
Thank you all once again for making my first year at Brighstone so amazing and memorable. Have a wonderful summer holiday, stay safe and have fun. We look forward to seeing you on 3rd September.
