Dear Parents and Carers,
Only five more sleeps until Christmas Day. The children are very excited and it has been magical to share festivities and celebrations with them so close to Christmas.
This week has literally been ‘Out of this world’ – congratulations and well done to all of our children, their enthusiasm and participation in our school Nativity got the Christmas celebrations underway in real style. Across the two performances the children shared the meaning behind the message of the Nativity story in a very special way. Especially thank you to all of the staff, who worked so hard on the rehearsals and preparations to ensure that the production was one that will leave the children with special memories of Christmas at Brighstone. We are also very grateful to all of the parents that helped to return the staging and equipment to school after the final performance, this made a real difference to the ease with which we were able to clear and tidy the church afterwards – it was very much appreciated.
We would also like to say thank you to everyone for their generosity in the retiring collection. A total of £256.28 was collected. From this we will be making a donation of £150 to the local Food Bank and the balance will go into school funds to cover some of the costs from the Nativity.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have returned your Parent Questionnaires. They are one of the many ways that the school can receive feedback and it is important that we are able to reflect on the way in which we do things to support our children and parents. If you would still like to complete one, please do so and hand it into the office in the New Year.
We return to school on Monday 7th January 2019.
Thank you all for your kind Christmas wishes, I hope you all have a peaceful and happy Christmas.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
