Welcome to Brighstone Primary School’s Wellbeing page.
Now, more than ever, the need to promote positive wellbeing is paramount. Wellbeing is a state of being comfortable, happy and healthy. At Brighstone Primary School, we know that happy children are more able to access their learning and so we strive to build children’s resilience and independence by putting wellbeing at the heart of everything we do.
As the pilot school for the Isle of Wight, we are currently working with the children’s mental health charity Place2Be on their ‘Place2Think’ programme. Our Mental Health Champions are:
Melissa Jones – Mental health and wellbeing lead/mental health first aider
Samantha Sharp – Year 6 teacher
Rebecca Lennon – Headteacher
Sue Boyd – SENCo
Kirsti Cousins – Early Years lead
The team meets regularly to discuss the needs and ideas for the school as a whole so that we can embed a whole school and community approach to mental health and wellbeing for all stakeholders.
