Welcome back to what has been a rather windy start to the new term.
We send a warm Brighstone Primary School welcome to Saffi and Olivia who have joined us in Year 3 and 6 as well as Mrs Rowland who has the pleasure of teaching Year 6 every morning.
The children have started to learn more about World War 1 this week and I have been inundated with children telling me how much they are enjoying this new topic. During our Worship we have also been reflecting upon Sacrifice and how we can show our thanks to all of those people who have sacrificed their life to ensure that we remain safe and free. It has been heart-warming to hear the thoughtful and caring comments made by children from the youngest to the eldest. Next Tuesday we will remember those brave souls who sacrificed everything by taking part in the Remembrance Service. We will collect together in front of the Memorial at 10.55am in preparation for the minutes silence and will then make our way inside the church for the remainder of the Service. The children are welcome to wear their Beavers/Rainbows etc. uniform to show their respect. If you would like to join us at this time you would be more than welcome.
Year 6 enjoyed a trip to UKSA this Thursday. Unfortunately the weather was not kind and they were unable to get out on the water but had a good time interacting with the staff and many have expressed an interest in potentially taking up sailing in the future.
It was the turn of Penguin class to take part in the Science Workshop led by the Family Learning Team this week. 17 families took part in the activities and they enjoyed hunting for minibeasts and making books. Next Monday is Year 2’s opportunity so if you would like to book a space please let the office know.
Have a lovely weekend
