Dear Parents and Carers,
December has arrived and excitement is building. The first door on the Advent Calendar has been opened, the wreaths have been dusted off and the tree has been decorated. It was a delight to see the looks of joy and excitement on the children’s faces as they came into the hall on Monday morning to find that the tree had been prepared and decorated. We would like to thank the BSA (Brighstone School Association) for arranging this and to the parents and staff that gave up their time last Friday.
The Christmas Tree Festival has also helped us to get the festive season into full swing. Yesterday, our children sang at the opening of the Christmas Tree Festival at the Methodist Church. They have worked very hard and we are really proud of them, for their commitment, enthusiasm and ability to convey the joy of the Christmas message. Thank you to Mrs Jones and Mrs Aram for all of their hard work with the children, the choir was bigger, better and more brilliant than ever. This year a number of our year six children put themselves forward to sing solos – this took great courage and it was really moving to her all of them as they sang their individual parts. This was a great achievement well done to all of them.
On Wednesday 11th December we have our Christingle Service; this will be in church at 8.40am all parents, family and friends are welcome to join us. We will be making Christingles with the children during the morning on Tuesday 10th December and would like to invite parents to come in to help the children make them immediately after drop off in the morning from 8.30am onwards. We would be grateful if you could provide your child with an orange to make their Christingle, they will bring it home after the service. The school will provide all of the other materials that are needed. It would be helpful if the children could bring in their orange on Monday ready for the activity on Tuesday. Please do not worry if your child is not able to bring in an orange, the school will have some spare ones to make sure that everyone is included.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend and I look forward to seeing you all at the Christmas Fair this afternoon.
