Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
This week in school we have had a lovely beginning to the season of Advent. On Monday in our worship we shared the meaning of our Advent wreath and lit the first candle, then yesterday we held our monthly Eucharist in church and the theme of Advent was developed further. The children have remained very focused on their learning while at the same time fitting in opportunities to rehearse for the Nativity.
Next week sees the start of the Christmas Tree Festival, there is a Carol Service to open it at the Methodist Church at 3.30pm on Thursday 8th December, some of our children will be taking part in leading the singing for this and it would be lovely to see as many of you there as possible.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who have already returned your Parent Questionnaires. They are one of the many ways that the school can receive feedback and it is important that we are able to reflect on the way in which we do things to support our children and parents. If you have not done so already, please do try to return it. Based on the feedback that we have already received, I would like to arrange an opportunity for parents to join us for an informal open forum over the next two weeks. As it is a very busy time of year, we will offer a number of days and times in the hope that as many of you who would like to, can join us.
We still have a vacancy for a Parent Governor, please can I ask all of you to consider whether you could take on this role. As a school community we are all working together to improve the outcomes for our children and this would be a great opportunity to be involved as we move forward. If you are interested and would like to know more about the role, I would be very happy to talk it through with you.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
