Dear Parents and Carers,
‘If you have the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.’ David Viscott. Our exploration of courage this week has been about facing challenges and we have thought about different ways of overcoming difficulty. I would like to say well done to all of the children; they have been very positive, eager and enthusiastic about their learning.
At Brighstone we are very lucky to have a full time sports coach, every class has PE twice a week and this is an important part of our curriculum. We would like to thank all of the parents that support the school by ensuring that their child has their PE kit in school, it can be very difficult for the children and staff when kit is not in school. We would politely like to remind parents that the PE kits should come into school on a Monday and remain in school all week. Over the past week we have experienced some cold and icy weather conditions, lessons will sometimes take place outside so please include tracksuits / warm clothes as well as shorts, T shirts, socks and trainers. If you need help and support with PE kit or uniform, please do not hesitate to contact me.
On Wednesday we welcomed Geoff Mason from Wood Learn Forest School into school, this half-term he is working with our year 5 children, it was really pleasing to hear that they were well engaged, good listeners. This is a great opportunity for them to learn team building, resilience and problem solving skills outside the formal classroom environment. We look forward to continuing to work with Geoff throughout the year.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
