Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to school for the second half of our Spring Term. The days are getting longer, being able to arrive at school and leave in daylight is a great reminder that Spring is on its way.
On Thursday we welcomed Nicky Metcalf from Wight Cycle on behalf of the Shift It – Active Schools Project into school to work with our Year 5 children. They enjoyed an afternoon improving their bike skills in a controlled off-road environment. While she was with us, the winning entries to the ‘Be Seen, Be Safe’ cycle helmet competition were chosen. The winners will be announced in next Friday’s Golden Worship. Watch this space!
Next week we have a whole school worship in church on Wednesday 28th February at 8.40am, if parents would like to join us, they would be very welcome. Please check the dates for your diary as they have the school services for Lent and Easter.
This half-term we have another day set aside to support children and families with Internet Safety. On Tuesday 13th March Rob Ellis from ICTTALK will be providing support for the school, every year group will be working with him across the school day. We would like to invite parents to join us at 1.45pm, this will be an informative opportunity to help understand how we can all work together to ensure our children remain safe online. We realise that some working parents might prefer an evening session, if there is sufficient demand we will explore the possibility of arranging an alternative time.
We have our Parent Consultation Evenings for this term on Monday 26th March and Wednesday 28th March 2018. We would like to encourage all parents to take the opportunity to meet with their child’s teacher as this is an important opportunity to be updated on progress and attainment for the term. Appointments can be booked through the school office from the week beginning 12th March 2018.
Best wishes
