It has been a very soggy week but that has not dampened our spirits here at Brighstone Primary School.
The whole school sang their hearts out on Thursday as we bid a final farewell to the lovely Revd. Helen O’Sullivan. Thanks to all of the kind donations the school presented Helen with a Print and hanging ornament both representing the fish of our school emblem. We also gave her the remainder of the money collected so that she could put it to good use!
Lasting reminders of all the children were also handed over as each class had produced a card and a school photograph was taken and printed. This was followed by a very moving rendition of ‘here I am to worship’ and a blessing for the whole school. Helen has been a guiding light for the whole of Brighstone Community throughout the last four years and will always remain in the heart and prayers of our school. Adios Helen, we will miss you and we wish you all the best for the future.
We welcomed representatives from UKSA into school on Wednesday, who met with children and parents from Years 4 & 6 regarding their upcoming residential trips.
Year 3 were very excited on their return from Sandown Zoo on Tuesday as it had coincided with the debut appearance of their new tiger, Simi who has been rescued from a circus in Germany.
I don’t know what you have planned for the weekend but I have my nit comb at the ready for the weekly check! I have spoken to several parents and staff this week as we are still striving to eradicate our unwanted visitors. I would ask that you all continue to check regularly. If you need help identifying what you are looking for or any other assistance, please let me know.
Have a fantastic Weekend. Mrs Street
