Dear parents and carers,
Despite the weather this morning, the school was filled with sunshine due to all the colourful yellow clothing for our Go Yellow day. Seeing all the splashes of colour made everyone smile and brightened up the day! Our Collective Worship theme this week is ‘generosity’, and I would like to thank everyone who donated money for the Mountbatten Hospice. No matter how small or large the donation, they all get added to the bigger pot to help others in need. Thank you!
On the subject of generosity, I would also like to thank everyone who gives up their time taking part in events organised by the BSA for the
benefit of the school. The Round the Island Relay Race raised an amazing total—over £1000! Well done and thank you. I know that the BSA
have got many more exciting events planned (all Covid safe) over the coming months (two of which are detailed in this Buzz), so watch this
space!
Next week sees our Harvest Festival celebrations. Over a three-day period, each bubble will have the opportunity to participate in a church
service, during which they will perform their song, dance or poem to the other children in their bubble, as well as donate items to the Food
Bank (another very generous act to do).
Please bring your non-perishable food items (tinned or packet) on the following days:
Bubble 3 (Y5 / Y6 ) on Wednesday 6th October;
Bubble 2 (Y3 / Y4) on Thursday 7th October;
Bubble 1 (R, Y1 & Y2) on Friday 9th October
These food items will then be left in the church to quarantine for 72 hours and thoroughly cleaned before being collected by the Food Bank.
Due to Covid restrictions unfortunately parents are unable to attend the services, but photos will be taken and posted on Facebook (if permissions have been granted).
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend—keep safe, warm and dry!
Best wishes,
Mrs Lennon and the Brighstone team
