Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back – I hope you all had an enjoyable half-term. Thank you to BSA for organizing a fantastic autumn disco followed by the pumpkin carving competition, it was a great start to the holiday.
This week we have been thinking about the coming weekend and Remembrance Day. This is a time that the church, the school and the whole community can come together. We have focused on our core values of Love, Courage and Respect. We have talked with the children about their relevance to the past and present but how through these values we can contribute in our everyday lives towards a vision of peace for the future.
Plastic free poppies – thank you to one of our parents that spent time making hand crocheted poppies and to the BSA for helping to promote this initiative. They are beautiful pieces of craft work and all proceeds are going to the Royal British Legion.
We have our Parent Consultation Evenings coming up on Tuesday 26th November and Wednesday 27th November 2019. Some teachers will be offering both dates, depending on the size of their class, while others will be offering one evening. Booking sheets are now available in the school office with the dates and times for everyone. We would like to reassure parents that if they are unable to make an appointment at the times on offer, their child’s class teacher will be prepared to meet with them at an alternative time. We would like to encourage all parents to take the opportunity to meet with the class teacher as this is a valuable way of being updated on progress and attainment for the term. In the meantime, if there is anything that you would like to discuss about your child’s education, please do not hesitate to speak to the class teacher or me.
I look forward to seeing some of you at the Service of Remembrance on Sunday morning.
Best wishes
Mrs Fox
